Walk With Me
Are you in a career where it seems that you have hit the ceiling, but you can not break through? Have you been blessed with everything only to lose it? Do you feel like there is more to life, to you, but you are not exactly sure what is missing? Do you feel accomplished and complete, yet still feel empty? These are some of the questions that will be answered throughout this upcoming year. If you are intent on discovering, understanding, fulfilling and maintaining your purpose while obtaining your blessing, this blog is for you.
Purpose Equals Blessing
Purpose is defined as the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc. Your purpose is what God has given you to fulfill throughout the course of your life. Blessings are a special favor or gift, mercy or benefit, approval or good wishes. The invoking of God's favor upon a person. Blessings can occur whether or not you are living within your purpose, but you can limit or lose out on your blessings by not doing so.
When you are fulfilling your purpose you will not only be blessed, but more importantly you will be a blessing to others.
YOUR ACTION IS REQUIRED to Obtain Your Blessing
If you want to be successful, YOU have to understand your purpose in life. Believing in God only will not automatically guarantee success and being blessed. There are many successful non-believers who do not believe in or acknowledge God. What the successful have in common is that they have aligned themselves with their purpose. When you have aligned yourself with your purpose blessings will follow. If you are a follower of Christ, getting in line with God's purpose will easily align you with your purpose. The problem is will you accept your calling and will you consistently work within your vision? The above images illustrate how important YOU and your actions are when it comes to obtaining the blessings God has for you. If you do not work and fight for your blessings, you will never obtain them. Get in line with God's vision and you will understand your purpose. If you do this and are faithful, your blessings will be guaranteed to you if not in this lifetime but in the next.
Matthew 6:24-34 (NLT)
24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Get In Line; Stay Aligned
Get in line with your purpose simply means follow God with your heart, mind, body, and soul. Trust Him wherever He may decide to take you.
Stay aligned with His purpose means cooperate and make adjustments regardless of what you may have to endure.
IF you are aligned with the will of God, you have no reason to worry. So the question is are you going after the things that God wants you to have? Are you fulfilling the purpose He has given you? Are you turning down His best for someone else's leftovers? Are you patient enough to allow God to change you, and prepare you for what He has for you WITHOUT giving up on him and or your dream? Are you able to stay focused on God and follow his expectations once you have been blessed?
Matthew 6:24-34 is a very simple passage to understand, but it is very easy to overlook the expectations that are required.
A Fellow Believer in Christ
I have always been told that as a believer I should read the bible in its entirety. I have been a follower of Christ for practically my entire life. I am almost forty and unfortunately I have not read the entire Bible. Up until February 11, 2017 I had not attempted to read the entire Bible from cover to cover. I read passages and took part in devotionals, but I did not see any true purpose in reading the entire book. I felt God would lead me to the passages and readings that I needed to read and focus on. As I have begun to complete this goal of reading the entire bible, I have understood that my mindset was wrong. First of all, I should not be reading to just read the Bible, but I should be reading to understand what purpose God has for me. This blog will be my journey and my insight on what I have read as it correlates with living within the will of God and making sure are living within the purpose He has given you.
