PURPOSE DRIVEN

When you are in line with God's vision, everything aligns...

ABOUT ME

When I was a young boy long before I was introduced to basketball, I saw myself following my father's footsteps.  My plans changed, but God's plans have not.  Although I have tried to avoid my father's footsteps, my purpose has brought me to this moment where I have been inspired to help others find their purpose.  I have always had a heart for helping and impacting individuals lives.  Purpose Driven is about making the correct decisions and actions to live the best life possible.  You would assume I would embrace this slogan, but have I?  I am helping others but how can I help more?  Has my fears kept me from helping more?  What do I need to do to ensure I am fulfilling my purpose?  Do I have to be standing in front of others or is this site enough with helping individuals find and walk within their purpose?  I have a number of ideas and dreams that align with my purpose, but does it have God's blessing?  However, the question is not whether or not my dreams are within the purpose He has for me, but if I am willing to let them go if they are not.  Will I follow and trust in Him even when my heart may not want to?

I will discuss the perspective I have as I read the Bible from cover to cover throughout this journey we call life.  I will post my walk, thoughts, and journey and hopefully as I grow, it will inspire you to grow as well.
I am not a pastor, just a follower of Christ who will be reading the word and giving my own insight on how the Bible relates to my life.  I am not perfect and suffer from a thorn, but my goal is to get better and closer to God every day.  This site is basically a diary as a well as a reminder that whatever occurs good or bad, God has your back.

GET IN LINE AND ALIGNED WITH YOUR PURPOSE

You have to decide to not only commit to your purpose, but your purpose must be a part of you. You should consistently embody your purpose even when you face your most adverse situations. Jesus understood His purpose and that guided every step He took and every decision He made. Jesus lived His purpose whether He was around people or if He was alone. One main factor in why Jesus never sinned is because He accepted His purpose over His wants and desires. When He was tempted, His purpose helped him overcome His selfish desires. When we become that focused on our purpose we will find it will be much easier to live a holy life and be a blessing to others around us.

THE CREATION OF NLIGN

As I began to read the Bible, I started getting insight on things that I had not thought about before.  I would either write it down in my 30-Challenge journal or I would think about connections only to forget what was so enlightening hours later.  I felt that creating this blog would be a great way to challenge myself to record the insights the Lord had given me, while also helping others with giving them a different perspective on situations they maybe going through.  If my insights that God has given me helps just one person and or leads some one to Christ I have done my job.
For the past couple years, I have really been focused on helping individuals understand and fulfill their purpose.  I have struggled with motivating some people who want to be successful, but who have not understood the complexity it takes to be focused, disciplined and dedicated to what they desire.  On the other hand these same individuals have given me insight, and they are starting to understand their strengths and weaknesses.  My hope is that NLIGN will be a resource for people to use as an aid to understanding and walking within their purpose.

WORRY, FEAR AND DOUBT IS A MISUSE OF IMAGINATION...

It is easy to get frustrated, to quit, and to stop believing in anything or anyone.  That is the purpose of adversity.  Adversity will either make you stronger or make you give up.  One question that is normally asked is, why me?  You may feel that an experience is too difficult and has no connection to a meaningful purpose.  Adversity has a funny way have making you focus on the little things but also the big things that are irrelevant at the same time.  Ironically, adversity can allow you to miss the connection to why the experience is important for your growth.  You can not let your logic and emotion overcome the power that God has over the situation.  NLIGN's purpose is help give you support and a reminder that you are not alone.  God loves adversity because adversity shows how strong your relationship with God is and how much strength He has given you.  A parent would not give their keys to their car to a 7 year old and let them enjoy the night, but they would more than likely give their keys to the same child twenty years later.  Enjoy the process no matter how long the process is and never forget your life has been DESIGNED and God has your back because He loves you.  Worry, fear and doubt ends when CONSISTENT faith in God begins.

AND CAN LIMIT THE POWER OF FAITH
